Biography – Laura Bacci ACC CPCC

Professional Experience and Track Record

I spent fourteen years working in EU public affairs and strategic communications before switching tracks to pursue my passion for coaching.

During this period, I recruited staff, managed virtual teams, lead multiple account teams, and had revenue and budget management responsibility.

LBacci photo parkingMy role involved servicing blue-chip companies in a wide range of sectors such as ICT, healthcare, chemicals, renewable energy, gas, construction, automotive, insurance, services, paper, packaging, telecoms, pay-TV, and retail.

As a Director in a global award-winning public affairs and strategic communications agency, I was a member of the management team in the Brussels office, assisted clients with their public affairs and corporate communications strategies and was the European lead for one of the company’s key global strategic client accounts. At the agency, my specific fields of expertise included reputation and issues management with the EU institutions, corporate citizenship, CSR, media relations and marketing communications.

Before this, I worked for another Brussels-based consultancy and was on a three year in-house placement as European Corporate Communications Manager for a World leader in the ICT sector. In this role, I was responsible for the development and day-to-day implementation of pan-European marketing communication strategies to support the company’s public affairs programmes in Brussels. I was in charge of coordinating the work carried out by external PR and PA agencies and was heavily involved in the planning and execution of integrated multi-media corporate advertising campaigns. Other projects included the conception and management of top-tier events in Brussels.

Earlier in my career, I was part of the British Government Information and Communications Service (GICS) and worked for the UK Department of Trade and Industry on consumer, health and R&D campaigns. Other previous work experiences include communications posts for a European NGO and a European trade association.

Current Work

My coaching clients are individuals and multi-cultural/virtual teams, director to senior executive level, from business, public agencies and non-profit organisations, based across Europe and in the US.

As a trainer, I develop and deliver courses on presentations skills & assertiveness, media relations, message development, communications strategy development and implementation, stakeholder mapping & engagement, and management skills (change management, leadership, conflict resolution, strategy planning, team efficiency, giving & receiving feedback, cross-cultural integration, team dynamics, etc.). Most of the courses are delivered in-house or through the Samskara network.

I also provide consultancy services in: personal and business branding, EU strategic communications, organisational development and EU public affairs.

Academic Background and Professional Qualifications

I have a degree in Russian studies from the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (UCL) in London, a Master’s degree in Communication Policy studies from City University, and another Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Central England. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.

Coaching Studies

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I have trained with the re-known Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and with Team Coaching International (TCI). I am an accredited facilitator of TCI’s suite of tools such as the Team Diagnostic Assessment (TDA), the Team Leader View Assessment and the Team 360 View Assessment.


I am a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and of the Institute of Coaching (IOC) at McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.


I work in English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
